The Teenagers Abroad French program offers high school students the following course options for French Courses in Montreal:
Standard French Courses
Standard French classes provide learners with the fundamental skills needed to communicate effectively in French, focusing on key areas such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and conversational practice.
4 group lessons per day (15 hours per week)
Intensive French Courses
These classes typically involve more hours of instruction per week and cover a wide range of skills, including advanced grammar, extensive vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency in speaking and writing.
6 group lessons per day (22.5 hours per week)
The Teenagers Abroad French Camp
Includes:
- Class size: max. 15 students (average 12)
- Standard French courses normally held 9:00-12:15pm, Monday - Friday
- Intensive French courses normally held 1:00-2:30pm, Monday - Friday
- French courses are available for all language levels
- Teachers are qualified professionals & French native speakers
- Students will receive a Language certificate at the end of the program
Typical Day at Teenager's Camp
Includes:
- Breakfast: 8:00 - 9:00am
- French Courses: 9:00 - 12:15pm
- Lunch: 12:15 - 2:30pm
- Organized activities: 2:30 - 6:00pm
- Evening meal/ free time: 6:00 - 10:00pm
- Lights out at 10:30pm
Accommodation & Meals
Students participating in the French program can choose between two accommodation options:
Residence Accommodation (June 29th-August 23rd)
- Downtown location
- Double rooms
- 3 meals a day with a packed lunch
- 15-20 min. walk from school
- On site supervision
Host Family Accommodation
- Single rooms & Double rooms
- 3 meals a day with a packed lunch
- Students travel to/from school using public transportation
- Housing is located 20 to 40 minutes from the school
The Supervised Activity Program
Includes:
- Daily afternoon activities
- Weekly half-day excursion
- Weekly full-day excursion
- Other activities and excursions available for a small surcharge
Our program in Montreal provides participants with sufficient time after courses to learn more about Quebec, its culture, traditions, customs and everyday life. Students will participate in cultural and social activities with their new international classmates. These will provide them with plenty of opportunities to practice and improve their new French language skills, as well as to make new friends.
Curfew & Supervision
Level of supervision: MODERATE
Curfew is at 10:00 pm every day.
Students must return to their accommodation by or before the curfew time, unless they are participating in a tour or activity organized by the school, regardless of their age or circumstance. No exceptions will be made.
Travel & Arrival Information
Airport Arrivals
Montreal Trudeau (YUL)
Montreal's international airport is located 25km outside of the city.
Transfers from/to the airport are included on the day of arrival (Sunday) and on the day of departure (Saturday) between 2pm and 6pm.
Passports/Visa/Length of Stay
Students are responsible for arranging their own visas, passports, and any permits needed to study abroad. For more information about visas, permits, passports and general country entry requirements, please visit official CIBT website.
Flights
Students are responsible for making all flight arrangements for travel to/from Montreal.
Upon arrival at the Montreal airport, one of our staff members will meet the student and take them to their accommodation.
Travel Insurance
Teenagers Abroad participants have the option to book our Travel Health Insurance.
